LOOOK ITS SHOPPED - WIN STREAK HALTED IN 4-1 LOSS TO PHANTOMS

ALLENTOWN –​​ Nate Schnarr scored the only goal as the Binghamton Devils fell to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms from PPL Center on Friday night, 4-1.

After no scoring in the first period, Ian Ratcliffe tipped a shot at the has marks to give the Phantoms a 1-0 lead. Eric Knodel fired a shot just inside the blue line that was deflected by Ratcliffe under the pads of goaltender Gilles Senn for the lead. Assists were credited to Knodel and Maksim Sushko at 9:53 of the second period.

Lehigh Valley took a two-goal lead after Senn turned the puck over and Germain Rubtsov and he immediately fired in his second of the season, unassisted, at 16:48 of the second. The Phantoms took a 2-0 lead into the third period with the shots even at 16.

Nate Prosser lifted a shot over the left shoulder of Senn just 3:32 into the third period to give the Phantoms a 3-0 lead. The goal was Prosser’s first of the year with assists from Ratcliffe and Kyle Criscuolo.

Binghamton responded to end the shutout bid at 9:57 of the third period. Julian Melchiori fed Nate Schnarr at the top of the crease and he scored his first goal since joining to decrease the deficit to two. Assists were given to Melchiori and Ryan Schmelzer on Schnarr’s second of the season.

Former Devils forward Kurtis Gabriel added to the lead with 3:45 left in regulation as he hammered home a rebound through the legs of Senn for a 4-1 lead with assists from Sushko and Mikhail Vorobyev.

Senn stopped 20 of 24 shots in the loss while Berube denied 25 of 26 in the win.

The Devils are back home tomorrow as they host the Syracuse Crunch in a rematch at 7:05 p.m. Fans can arrive and enjoy Happy Hour specials and LIVE music from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the concourse between Section 19 and 20.
