BINGHAMTON – The Binghamton Devils have teamed up with the American Red Cross and Broome County Executive Jason Garnar to host a blood drive, which will take place on Tuesday, July 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Arena.

Every fan who donates blood will receive a voucher for a Binghamton Devils merchandise gift card for the 2020-21 season worth $5.

The Red Cross is thankful to donors who have given blood and made upcoming appointments to help ensure the needs of patients counting on lifesaving donations can be met in the weeks ahead. The urgent need for blood continues this summer. As hospitals schedule surgical procedures and treatments that were previously on hold in response to COVID-19, the demand for blood has increased.

During this uncertain time, the Red Cross is grateful to be able to host blood drives at large venues like Veterans Memorial Arena in order to maintain important social distancing measures. Each Red Cross blood drive and donation center follows the highest standards of safety and infection control, and additional precautions – including social distancing and face coverings for donors and staff – have been implemented to ensure the health of all those in attendance.

The Red Cross is now testing all blood, platelet, and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies for a limited time, providing donors insight into whether they have been exposed to Coronavirus. Donors who help support the urgent need by giving at this drive will be able to view their results 7-10 days after donation through the Red Cross Blood Donor App or at
